The majority of the cabinetry and the countertops were not to be replaced, so the answer for this family was to install new cabinet doors, drawer fronts, countertop support corbels, and appliances.  We replaced the oven wall cabinet with a larger, more functional design and also replaced the desk upper cabinet as well as the bar upper cabinet.

The cabinets were originally a light maple.  To achieve the dramatic effect that the homeowners were after, we  added cherry fronts and doors and stained them a dark red to highlight the natural grain.  The original black appliances were replaced with top-of-the-line Viking stainless which blends seamlessly with the new cabinet color.  The bar area had a cluttered look, so to soften it we removed the glass rack and installed a light inside the cabinet with glass shelves to highlight the crystal stemware.

The wood floor was finished with BonaTech Traffic which is a commercial waterborne finish.  This is an upgrade from standard polyurethane finishes and is highly resistant to color fade and scratches.
