Interior/Exterior Specialties Zarling Fireplace
Want to bring some life to your fireplace wall? Then try this. The area to the right of the fireplace was a recessed arched top niche for a cabinet which typically housed a TV. The fireplace had a typical oak surround that never drew much attention. All that changed. We removed the surround, altered the framing in the niche, removed the tile hearth, and started over. The finished product is unreal. The cabinets are all natural Walnut, the surround is stacked limestone tile and the hearth is a Crema Marfil slab. To complete the room, the original oak floors were removed and replaced with Ipe, or ironwood.
